#ScaryMovieADayMonth 2014 (Days 1-10)

image

Thank you, baby Satan!  Eleven whole months have passed since the last edition of #ScaryMovieADayMonth and not 1 image of gore has been transmitted through my optic nerve, bruh.  The same can’t be said for some of you who recently watched those beheading videos online, you sick motherfuckers.  News flash: Those videos BEEN online for quite some time now.  For some reason, they were noticed by a broader audience this year.  But enough of that sick, twisted shit.  We’re here for visually stunning, fictitious flicks with the actors and the…camera angles and the……. the FAKE shit, OK?!  The scripted ones.  Real people actually being killed is terrible.  I hate it.

So last year, I mentioned something about the movie Gravity, although not falling into the genre of horror, having a horrific theme.  I also said I might save it for the next #ScaryMovieADayMonth list of movies to watch if I didn’t give in on opening weekend and caught it on the silver screen.  Well, call me Mr. Patience.  I put it off long enough and that’s why I’m starting this year’s edition of #ScaryMovieADayMonth with Gravity.  So here we go.  Days 1-10.

Day 1: Gravity (2013)

Untitled

Sandra!  NOOOOOOOOO!  I mean, wait…..what’s her name in the movie again?  I guess it doesn’t matter when you’re drifting aimlessly in space, now does it?  I noticed my breathing changed while I watched this movie.  All my zero gravity fantasies were discarded with a determined long range Michael Jordan fade away.  With the tongue out.  No way in hell do I want to feel like a yo-yo that never retracts.  That’s what Sandra Bullock was for a good 15 minutes.  No control of her direction whatsoever.  On George Clooney’s string, much like the women in his life were before he chose the one to settle down with.  (It’s a miracle.)

Remember when you were a kid and your big cousin would pick you up and swing you until you begged him to stop, but he wouldn’t, unless you were on the brink of genuine, pussified tears? THAT’S WHAT THIS WAS! But WORSE.  And then to top it off, a cameo from everybody’s least favorite Looney Tunes character, Marvin the Martian.

Gravity-marvinmartian

How fitting.  I enjoyed the shit out of this movie.  The film score did it for me.  Many feels.

Day 2: Carrie (2013)

carrie-the-movie-2013

Well, well, well.  If it isn’t one of the best horror remakes I’ve ever seen.  All the elements are there.  Nobody can say this is a watered down version of the story or it wasn’t as captivating as the original.  The buildup, the payoff, the characters. All there.  Of course there’s minor differences.  E.g., instead of traditional volleyball, they played in a pool.  Then, of course, the modernization of the setting.  Internet instead of books, a Tim Tebow reference, and “Young Blood” by The Naked and Famous playing at the prom.  Naturally, the violent scenes are little better, visually, because technology allows that now.  Still, they kept from using too much CGI.  No John Travolta.  But his replacement is just as douchey.  No Sissy Spacek, but my God, if Chloë Grace Moretz didn’t do a hell of a job making the viewer believe she was odd and not as attractive as the other girls… I mean, I have to admit…I was a little skeptical about how believable she would be, coming into this.  The character is supposed to be an ugly duckling and Chloë is far from that.

carrie-chloe-grace-moretz-julianne-moore1

But somehow, she made it happen.  She made you feel for her when she was getting picked on and I was just as happy for her as I was for Sissy’s Carrie when Billy was being nice to her.  Oh yeah, can’t forget about Julianne Moore’s performance. Wow. What a fucking psycho.

Remakes that are actually good are hard to come by.  Finding any that are AS good as the original is even more unlikely, making this film a pleasant rarity.

Day 3: You’re Next (2013)

OR_You re Next 2013 movie Wallpaper 1440x900

Thirty minutes in, I was ready to say this is the dumbest movie ever.  Then it became enjoyable. By enjoyable, I mean violent & unfortunate for the characters.  “Crawling on broken glass” unfortunate.  Just when it was on it’s way to being a pretty good movie, some corny, over-the-top shit happens like some whore trying to convince her man to fuck her next to his dead mother and it’s right back to being the worst.  Soon after, a blender is neatly used as a weapon and just like that, it’s good again.  I don’t know.  I guess it’s more than decent for a movie with a million dollar budget.  I’d say it’s a good slasher.  Everybody knows slashers are not always the best movies.  As long as people die every 5 minutes, it’s worth it.  The masks in this one though, is what put the movie on the map.  The Wyatt Family in the WWE stole the sheep mask look because it works so well at creeping people out and made it arguably more menacing which only brought more attention to the movie.

WyattFamily4_crop_exact

That’s the only reason I wanted to watch You’re Next.  To see that creepy ass mask some more.  Seriously considering buying one.

Day 4: Freaks (1932)

Freaks

After 3 consecutive 2013 releases, I felt the need to just watch something that wasn’t modern.  I kind of overdid it and went back 82 years.  Freaks is a movie that I knew about for like 10 years but I never had the balls to watch it.  As a matter of fact, I found out about this film while watching Bravo’s 100 Scariest Movie Moments which aired in 2004.  I was right on the money. 10 years ago.  Coming in at #15 on the countdown, the clips were so fucking creepy to me despite being desensitized from watching clips from the previous 84 entries to the countdown.  A woman being chased by a legless man and a completely limbless man on his stomach, wobbling left and right with a knife in his mouth was the image that stuck in my head since I was 13 years old.

prince_randian190

All types of real-life deformed people in one movie was something I just could not bring myself to watch for 10 whole years. Until now.  Apparently, the original cut was too shocking and doesn’t even exist anymore as it was edited from it’s initial 90 minute runtime to the 64 minute version that’s out there.  Shit is short as hell.  I already saw the scariest parts by forcing myself to watch a clip here and there through the years so I basically just watched a midget leave his midget bae for a full-size bitch who only wanted to marry him for his money.  Black man lights cigarette with his mouth, “One of us! One of us! We accept her, we accept her! Gooble gobble! Gooble gobble! One of us!”, roll credits.  That’s it.  Great for it’s time.  Creepy chant is the most memorable part in this whole shit and the “freaks” leave a lasting image in your psyche.  A must watch for those who want to say they’ve seen the movie that defined the subgenre “cult film”.

Day 5: Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013)

insidious_chapter_2-1600x1200

Oh, look.  I’m unintentionally back in 2013 again.

I hate way more about this movie than I care to like.  I’m giving this movie the same rating I gave the 1st one.  TD.  Trash Dookie.  It’s not fair at all that I realized it was rated PG-13 after I watched it.  But come on, y’all really liked this shit?  It was pretty scary for PG-13 but the majority of it is just jump scares.  I’m not even exaggerating, every time there was a jump scare, it was laughable.  Hands slamming down on piano keys was all they used to create suspense. There were maybe 2 good ones but I still laughed after them and it’s because there was no reason for me to be startled by a jump scare.  I didn’t flinch but if anyone did, it’s because the sound was loud and that’s just a reflex.  It has nothing to do with the possibility of something scary jumping out at you or the story being really creepy because there was none of that until like halfway through the 3rd quarter of this movie.

341076-insidious-chapter-2-insidious-2-pic4

I showed more emotion at the terrible shopping decisions this family made, especially when it came to house decorations and appliances.  I was like, “That wallpaper is God-awful.  And why the fuck do they have a TV with a knob on it?  What year is this?”  Other times, I was like, “So y’all just gon’ cover YOUR ears when the burglar alarm goes off and leave the baby’s ears unprotected, you selfish assholes?  Oh, that’s right.  Y’all suck at protecting.  Should’ve protected your genitals because you clearly are unfit parents.”  Movie is such a fucking drag.  You should see how the writers attempted to include comic relief.  Really, that shit couldn’t have been in the script.  It must’ve been ad-libbed on a day where the director just wanted to go the fuck home already.  PG-13 horror movies be so trash, bruh.

Day 6: Paranormal Activity 4 (2012)

PARANORMAL-ACTIVITY-4

I ain’t mad at this one.  I ain’t mad at any of the Paranormal Activity movies.  Truth is, they keep it fresh with the surveillance camera footage.  I made the mistake of watching this on a TV.  This is the one movie that should be watched on a laptop with some good headphones because then it feels like the actual found footage.  This time, laptop webcams were turned on on all the laptops in the house to keep tabs on the creepy boy from across the street who was sleeping over for like a week and a half for a reason I’m not sure about.  (My copy of the movie had really low audio.  Or maybe it was the loud ass fan on my Xbox making it impossible for me to hear indoor voice dialogue.)  SPEAKING OF XBOX!  A Kinect is used in the most dope way for this movie.  The special effects just keep getting better and better in this series.  The whole thing was like one big Kinect ad and I loved every minute of it.

2012-09-27-paranormal_activity_4

“Fucking Prius!”  LMAO!  The main character, Alex, yells this at someone who almost runs her over with a Toyota Prius.  I don’t understand the global hate for this vehicle but it sure is funny.  There’s a brief much-needed reminder of how the last one ended in the beginning, thank God.  The endings might not be as shocking anymore since we have an idea of what to expect but they’re still effective.  I heard the next one is not a sequel, but a spin-off.  So maybe it won’t be as predictable.  Should be fun.  Might watch that next, idk yet. ……

Day 7: Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014)

paranormal-activity-the-marked-ones-main

Psych, I’m just fucking with you.  Of course this was next. You kidding me?  I love these movies!  (Also, I have slight OCD so I couldn’t have watched anything else even if I tried.)  Holy shit, this was good!  I even forgot to take notes.  Well, not entirely.  I could revert to my tweets.

But seriously though, this is the best one out of the bunch.  This one makes the whole franchise worth it for me.  It’s the funniest, it’s the scariest, and….just fucking watch it.  That’s it.  I’m not saying anymore on it.  The next installment is called Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension and it was supposed to be out in theaters on the 25th of this month.  It was pushed back to March 13, 2015 and now I’m pissed.  (Oh yeah. Movies come out on Fridays so it’s on Friday the 13th.)  I might not even wait for the next #ScaryMovieADayMonth and just go on opening day, fuck it.

Day 8: Mama (2013)

MAMA-Poster

Remember when I said PG-13 horror movies be trash? … Scratch that.  FAITH RESTORED!  THIS motherfucker right here is frightening!  The story, the acting, the score, it’s all GOOD.  The girls humming was spine-tingling, sound effects on fleek, special effects eerie as fuck.  Jessica Chastain looked pretty good with black hair.  Loved it.  I don’t even like horror fantasy like that.  I feel like most of them are not creepy enough.  I noticed that the horror aspect turned into more of a drama-fantasy at the end of Mama.  It was fitting, though, and there was closure to the story.  The entire movie was sinister so I didn’t need an over-the-top gory ending.  PG-13 rated horror movies are back in my radar.

Day 9: The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

the-cabin-in-the-woods-wallpapers-2

Feels like American Pie at first.  Then Jesse Williams aka my nigga Jackson from Grey’s Anatomy shows up.  Then a pot head pulls up in a hoopty playing Asher Roth’s “Blunt Cruisin'”.  In those first 5 minutes, I was sold.  But I didn’t think it was gonna get any better.  After all, I WAS watching a horror movie on Netflix.  BRUH. …. When I say this is one of the best horror movies I’ve seen, I’m not just talking about this year.  Or since I started #ScaryMovieADayMonth.  EVER, bro.  E-VERRRR!  Shit was creative as fuck, goddamn!  I haven’t had this much fun watching a cabin movie since the original Evil Dead.  (I’m making it sound like I saw it when it came out.  I saw that shit for the 1st time last year.)  Seriously, it was fun, it was funny, it was scary, there was blood, there was gore, there were twists, there were surprises, there were tits, there was action, …I can’t even keep going like I want to because I don’t want to spoil it.  GO WATCH THIS MOVIE!  NOW!!! It’s my new fav.

Day 10: Alien Abduction (2014)

alien_abduction_movie

Begins so serious.  Next thing I know, there’s a family on the road and Riskay’s “Smell Yo Dick” is playing on the radio.

So there was really a family bumpin’ this on the way to their demise in real life I guess because apparently, this is “actual footage” retrieved from an 11 year old autistic boy’s camera.  Priceless.  This one was limited in theaters and released on VOD and yo….I’m gonna stop shunning straight-to-video movies because this was actually worth my time.  It’s barely 90 minutes long and the proverbial fecal matter hit the gyrating, bladed appliance for sure.

Alien-Abduction-642x362

It has post-credits goods and the whole Project Blue Book thing had me googling shit after the movie was over and it added a sense of reality to it.  I always go too far with the government cover-ups/military studies research after watching alien movies and I need to stop.

Bada bing, bada boom. Days 1-10: Over.

Next 10 days might include an entire franchise.  Come back on the 20th to find out which legendary horror villain I’m going with.

Peace gawd, I’m gone.  *opens airborne airplane emergency exit whilst wearing a cape*

#ScaryMovieADayMonth 2013 (Days 21-31)

EYE

That’s right, hoochie mamas & baby daddies!  I sat and watched a movie errday for a month, for the 2nd year in a row.  #ScaryMovieADayMonth is finally over.  Thank you, ass cramp relief gods, no homo.  Only the 2nd time I do this and I already found myself digging for the shortest flicks I could find.  Big mistake.  And to think, I went for the most interesting sounding short ones.  So you’ll know its longer than 1 hour and 35 minutes if I’m saying positive things about it.

Let’s see if shit hits the fan in any of these.

Day 21: Cujo (1983)

cujo_poster_by_mahboi_dinner-d4z32ft

Big ass rabid dog attacks.  Guaranteed to scare the shit out of kids.  Make ’em cross the street when they see a dog.  The fear of having a dog black out on you can be instilled in people of all ages though.  Good watch, well done.

cujo1b

Day 22: Jaws (1975)

Jaws

This shit here!  Similarly to “Cujo”, this one would make a casual swimmer/surfer/beach-head stay the fuck out of the water.  This movie is 10 times better than “Cujo” though, to me.  In 1975, the mechanics used in this movie blew minds, I’m sure of it.  That shark looks real as fuck! ….. I mean uh ….. it’s real, you guys.  Forget I said anything.  This is simply a shark caught on tape, ironically, fishing for humans.  Yup, that’s my belief and I’m sticking with that.  (Movie is fucking real, bruh.)  But yeah.

jaws-1024x815

This is actually a thriller but the realism and idea of this happening was horrific enough to land a spot on the “100 Scariest Movie Moments” special on the Bravo Network.  After all, I did replace the word ‘horror’ with ‘scary’ in #ScaryMovieADayMonth for that reason.  There are thousands of thrillers that capture the audience with fast-paced action but then there are films that rely on horrific themes that were put on-screen to scare people.  I haven’t seen the movie Gravity yet, but the plot is terrifying.  The idea of being unanchored in space is gut-wrenching.  (Making a mental note to watch this next October if I don’t give in and just go catch it in IMAX this weekend.)  I put myself in the character’s shoes and feel what they feel.  I be gettin’ lost in these movies, g. Word!

It happened with Jaws.  I was sucked in.  But this dope ass, Spielberg directed classic is almost 40 years old, so I’ll stop holding up the goddamn blog to get to the new stuff.

Day 23: Silent House (2011)

cn_image.size.s-silent-house-poster

This remake of a 2010 Uruguayan independent film of the same name stars the youngest Olsen sister, Elizabeth Olsen.  Her performance wowed me.  I didn’t think it would be as good as it was.  If memory serves me correct, there appears to be no cuts in the scenes, giving the viewers a sense of unedited raw-ness, if you will.  Whole movie, one continuous shot of a girl FREAKING THE FUCK OUT!  I enjoyed this and your girl did… I mean … will too.

silent-house09

Day 24: Them (2006)

them

French-Romanian movie with subtitles. It’s was barely ‘ok’.  OH but wait, this is based on real events?! Oh my God! That makes this really sca….no.

O-K. That’s it.

them-clc3a9mentine-in-the-attic1

Day 25: The Haunting (1963)

The Haunting

I watched this because it’s Martin Scorsese’s favorite horror film.  Curiosity bored the shit out of this cat.  I guess he loves it for the script and neat camera shots. I’m guessing because I didn’t pay enough attention to dissect it.

What are the 5 best movie elements of all time?

Dialogue …. Dialogue …. Dialogue, Dialogue, Dialogue.

Ugh.

Day 26: Creepshow 2 (1987)

CREEPSHOW-2

Here I go, picking the easiest movies to watch again. Ya’know, I kind of learned to like these somewhat light-hearted stories, so I watched the rest of the series.  Bad acting everywhere, what a treat.  It’s like watching Goosebumps or Are You Afraid Of The Dark? but for adults.  “Thanks for the ride, lady!”  Some good laughs here.

Day 27: Tales From The Darkside: The Movie (1990)

1363301

An 80’s TV show, turned movie.  Cool.  Even though it’s expected, this movie has a surprising amount of stars in it.  Christian Slater, Julianne Moore, Matthew Lawrence (Boy Meets World), Steve Buscemi, even Debbie Harry from the band, Blondie.  The list goes on.  It was like playing I Spy.  Like, “Oh shit!  Look who it is!”  “Oooh!  Where is she from again?”  On top of that, this shit was hilarious.  “You broke your promise, you idiot!  I loved you!”  *rips own scalp in 2*  … My midsection was boomin’, cuhh.  It ends with a kid throwing a suburban housewife in an incinerator and saying, “Don’t you just love happy endings?”  I lost it.  Genuine tears.  What kind of shit is that?

darksideoven

This isn’t really a sequel, just made by the same people.  So after making this next movie on the list, the creators said in an interview that Tales From The Darkside: The Movie was the actual 3rd and final installment to the Creepshow series.  I guess they agreed with my sentiment of Creepshow 3.

Day 28: Creepshow 3 (2006)

creepshow 3

This is the only movie that ties in all the stories and show what and how they affect each story.  It’s way more simple than what I just said.  This movie is ass.  A few gruesome deaths and way more blood is shed though, I’m guessing to quench modern horror movie-goers’ thirst for disgusting guts splattering.

Day 29: V/H/S (2012)

vhs_ver4_xlg

Awwww sheeit!  This is my new favorite series.  A bunch of sick footage gathered and edited into 1 long montage.  When I tell you shit hits the fan in this, it’s because the proverbial fecal matter does indeed hit the propellers.  The deaths look a little TOO real and I found myself cringing, even after being desensitized by the 28 movies I already watched this month.  The point of the movie might not be all that but once you see what happens, who cares?  I strongly recommend this shit, unless you have a weak stomach.

vhs-picture03

Day 30: V/H/S/2 (2013)

Quad-VHS2-flat-700x510

Once again, the excrement made physical contact with a hydro-electric powered oscillating air current distribution device!  It started off really stupid but picked up halfway through.  Even the fake, impossible shit makes you go, “Whoa.  Did that just…..CAN that happen?” ….. ILL.

Day 31: Escape From Tomorrow (2013)

Escape-From-Tomorrow-Poster

Looked at this picture, then read how interesting the film-making process was and I was sold.  The maker of this movie, Randy Moore, actually shot a majority of this film in Disney World and Disneyland.  Get this: …….WITHOUT PERMISSION!  They had the scripts on their iPhones and made a fucking movie on the low without Walt Disney Company’s approval.  I had to watch it.

3017814-poster-p-1-sneaky-camera-how-escape-from-tomorrow-filmmakers

Shitty.  Didn’t like it.  But then again, I don’t really fuck with psychological horrors like that.  They’re effective on me but I just think they should at least try to get a physical reaction out of the audience as well as mentally to hit a home run.  This genre is full of pop up fly balls that ultimately get nowhere.  However, this is Randy Moore’s debut and I gotta say…that was a helluva risk he took, making this movie.  It gives me the impression that he’s a visionary who soon will make something awe-inspiring.  And for that, I’ll keep an eye out for his future work.

Bonus #ScaryMovieADayMonth related stuff:

The Fear of God: 25 Years of ‘The Exorcist’ (1998)

Dope documentary. All the tricks they used for special effects, cool facts and creepy coincidences between events in the movie and in real life.

The Curse of ‘The Omen’ (2005)

This documentary scared me more than any of the movies. The things that happened to the people involved with The Omen are peculiarly bone-chilling.

BAM! 31 in a month again.  *wipes sweat*

Already got a few in mind for next year.  But, fuck!  I just hope it takes forever to get there.  I’ll probably get excited again during the summer, when that heat makes me beg for autumn weather again.

I need a fucking shower.  I’m outtie!  *cannon ball dives into giant washing machines*

#ScaryMovieADayMonth 2013 (Days 1-10)

#ScaryMovieADayMonth 2013 (Days 1-10)

This has become one of my favorite months/holiday traditions.  Whether or not Halloween is considered a real holiday, I treat it like one.  It deserves just as much attention as the other holidays despite its lack of importance in history and origin or whatever the fuck.  So for the 2nd year in a row, I’m watching a horror movie every day for the month of October.  I mean, look….this is no different than putting up Christmas decorations before taking a massive Thanksgiving dinner shit, alright?  If you think it’s stupid, fine.  This is my shit.  So, I’ll go do me, & you go do you.  And by ”do you”, of course I mean go fuck yourself.

Let’s just get right into it.

Day 1: Suspiria (1977)

SuspiriaDarioArgento

The tagline for this movie is what drew me in.  A creepy dude with a deep voice in the theatrical trailer states; ”the only thing more terrifying than the last 12 minutes of this film are the first 92”.   So I thought, “I gotta see this for myself.”  The 1st 5 minutes were pretty good, but that’s about it.

suspiria_ab01

I shit you not, the word ”terrifying” in the tagline should have been replaced with the word ”shitty”.  I’m sure it worked in the 70’s, it does have some creepy ass music that still holds up. But my God, the build up was dreadful.  To me.  I hated it but I won’t dismiss the ending completely because maybe furniture magically attacking people was frightening 36 years ago.  But no.  Fuck this movie.  NEXT!

Day 2: The Wizard Of Gore (1970)

shot0001

In watching Suspiria, I remembered a brief debate in the movie Juno about which horror movie was the best of all time between Suspiria (Juno was buggin’), and this other film, The Wizard Of Gore.  So I dug it up (it was on YouTube) & I watched it.  First of all, Juno was wrong.  Suspiria was not better than this.  Cinematically? Sure.  But this, also shitty movie, had disgusting corn syrup everywhere. Win!  Oh no wait…

Gore

FAIL.  Continuity sucked, dialogue was boring as shit, & the story itself was trash dookie.  But there was this eerie feel to it & psychological trickery that’s hard to forget, unfortunately.

Verdict: The debate on Juno was worthless & stupid.

Day 3: Carrie (1976)

Carrie_10

Great movie.  Good character build.  John Travolta’s debut.  Based on the novel by Stephen King, Directed by Brian De Palma.  And to top it off, an outstanding performance by Sissy Spacek, who played Carrie White.

carrie-carrie-1976-_132765-fli_1366464739

I’m not about to ruin my experience of watching this movie by watching any sequels.  I only look forward to the remake.  I mean, it’s Chloë Grace Moretz! Like, come on.  Let me put it this way… if by any chance she gets kidnapped at New York Comic Con, it was probably me.  (Not serious.  (You’re goddamn right I’d do it) Nah, yea.  Nah) Like I was saying.  She’s not just smart & cute, she respects and understands there’s different methods to acting at such a young age and she loves the original.  Which can only mean she will perform to the best of her ability.  I want to hear her say ‘mama’ after every sentence, too.

But yea, I fucks with the original.

Day 4: The Thing (2011)

The_Thing_Movie_2011_freecomputerdesktopwallpaper_16001

Dope remake.  Cool special effects.

TheThing

The creatures make me want to play Dead Space for Xbox. But of course, there’s nothing like 80’s movies.  The original is cooler, to me.  Nevertheless, this movie’s good.  I recommend it.

Days 5-8: The Evil Dead Franchise: The Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead II (1987), Army Of Darkness (1992), Evil Dead (2013)

EVIL DEAD FRANCHISE

The Evil Dead? …… FIRE!

The Evil Dead, 1981

Evil Dead II? …… Pretty Good.

evil-dead-2-i-want-you-1024x554

Army Of Darkness ……. Not even a horror. Shit was LIGHT! It’s a comedy dark-fantasy. It would be OK if it was a spin-off, not a direct sequel. Not my favorite.

aod_photo_06

Evil Dead remake? ……. Pretty fucking sick.  I would put it 3rd, if not, tied with the second movie.  (Jane Levy got some sexy, thick, full legs.)

evil-dead-2013_13535703233

Day 9: The Last Exorcism Part II (2013)

LASTEXORCISM2_QUAD_FINAL

Watched the first one last year and when the sequel was announced, I told myself, in South Park voice, “You gotta go see this movie, dude.” ……. I didn’t.  I waited til it came to me.  So I finally watched it and…..it was straight ass juice.  Butt nectar.  Rear beer.  I was disappointed.  If you go back and read my opinion on the 1st one (#ScaryMovieADayMonth Mothafucka! Days 11-20), I obviously thought it was a good one.  So to see this sphincter milk of a movie was such a letdown.  I do, however, think that this is not the end all, be all of this series or main character.

3388918

History shows that the biggest horror movie characters, such as Freddy,  Jason, Michael Myers, Leatherface etc., became what they are because of the fans, not the quality of movies.  Let’s face it ….. them Friday The 13th movies are garbage to the core.  With the exception of 3 or 4 slighlty above MEDIOCRE ones, that whole franchise is TERRIBLE.  The name, Jason Voorhees, is HUGE though.  The same goes for the others.  (Especially Pinhead, my God! The 1st Hellraiser is a classic.  The rest? Disposable as fuck.)

the-exorcistMy point here is … the horror movie culture doesn’t have a solid female villain character, or has had one since Regan MacNeil from The Exorcist.  The Last Exorcism Part II was based around this character, Nell Sweetzer, which wasn’t the case for the 1st one.  Why else would they keep referencing her Doc Marten boots?  It’s probably her signature style.  Every major horror movie villain has one.

doc martens

I’m giving this story the benefit of the doubt because this could have been a film just to build on this character and explain why she’s “the devil”, if you will.  Maybe in the next one, she won’t waste any time and just start fucking shit up from the jump, which is what we begin to see in the end of this one.  I won’t give up on Sweetzer, but this movie was confusing.  The bad kind.  The one where it was unnecessary an not beneficial to the story at all.

Day 10: Pumpkinhead (1989)

31-pumpkinhead-e1350015028284

I was expecting this:

pumpkinhead_jamie_wyeth

But Pumpkinhead was this:

Pumpkinhead3

Whatever.  Honestly, I chose this movie today cuz I wanted to go to sleep early & it was the shortest one on my list.  It served its purpose.  Watched it on the computer and everything was dark as Sam Jack in Django.  Didn’t know WHAT the fuck was going on.  So, yeah.  If you’re a fan of this so called Pumpkinhead, I’m sorry but…. I didn’t have to pay attention to know that this is as special as a skid mark in a homeless dude’s tighty whiteys.

There you have it.  Days 1-10.

Comic Con all weekend.  So many thots in Chun Li & Catwoman costumes, I can’t wait.  Days 11-20 are still coming though.

Th- th- the- thih- th- THAT’S ALL, FOLKS!  *chases pig with a chainsaw*

The Dopeness: TV Dramas

These shits right HERE?!!  Dopeness.  Keep in mind, these are dramas.  They contain a lot of emotion which naturally requires good acting.  That’s what draws me in.  Not the amount of deaths, sex scenes or adultery going on.  The acting that convinces you into thinking for a short moment that what’s going on in the screen is actually real.  I’m only mentioning shows I’m watching at the moment.  Let The Flames Begin!

Friday Night Lights

Obviously, this show is about football.  But then again, it’s NOT about football.  It’s about the lives of those who affect other people’s lives by playing football, coaching & cheer leading.  THEN it’s about football.  The acting ain’t all that except when it comes to Coach Taylor.  He’s the man.  It’s a good show.  You don’t have to like football to enjoy it.  It can be inspirational for anyone.  I’m only just finishing Season 1, so I can’t speak for the entire series.  So far, it was enough for me to want to watch all five seasons.  Also enough to make me want to be in a football team.  “CLEAR EYES!  FULL HEARTS!  CAN’T LOSE!”

The show ended in 2010, so it’s available in its entirety on Netflix.  WIN!

The Walking Dead

Zombie shows and movies never really satisfy me with anything other than zombies being dismembered and decapitated left and right.  That’s what i sat and watched the series premiere of The Walking Dead for.  And unexpectedly, I got MORE than that.  Along with great makeup, blood and guts everywhere… this show is carried by great actors.  The character development, what some might consider filler moments, is as good as the zombie killings.  The suspense, realism, and revelations in this show are fulfilling even when it doesn’t turn out how you wanted it to.  Not all questions are answered but what’s the fun in knowing everything?  Season 2 finished recently and it was CRAZY!  Can’t wait for the next.

As of now, only Season 1 is available on Netflix.

Grey’s Anatomy

Imagine someone’s life slipping away right in front of you.  And you have to find out why they’re dying, how to save them and how much time you have before it’s too late.  On top of that, your future job as a surgical resident depends on how you perform and handle the situation.  Then go through the same thing or worse the next day.  Being a doctor is NOT easy.  This show does a great job at portraying that.  It’s also good at glorifying their hectic schedules resulting in co-workers doing “the nasty” in the on-call rooms to relieve stress.  Oh yeah! This show is dope as fuck!  It’s humorous, tragic, educational and sexy at the same damn time!  Every mid-season and season finale is a butt clencher.  If this show was a rock band, they’d be named “Intensity In Ten Cities”.  Eight whole seasons, still going strong.

Seasons 1-7 available on Netflix.  MARATHON!

Breaking Bad

Just look at the picture.  Big ass containers filled with the purest crystal meth and a butt load of cash.  *Hails*  YOU’RE THE MAN, MR. WHITE!  EVERYTHING about this show is just perfection.  Before you go judging it by the picture, just don’t. Watch that shit!

Walter White’s job is to teach chemistry to a bunch of disinterested high school students.  After work, he goes to work….at a car wash.  This, along with a bunch of other bullshit, makes Mr. White realize how much his life sucks.  And then he was diagnosed with lung cancer.  The struggle came crashing down on this poor man.

I feel like I said too much already.  Just look at the picture.  Why does he look like a boss, you ask?  Well….just put Netflix on and start watching NOW.  The 1st 3 seasons are available.  It’s the father from Malcolm In the Middle for crying out loud!  Bryan Cranston is excellent!  That goes for the entire cast as well.  Season 5 begins tonight and my sphincter is tight with anticipation.  And don’t you even dare land on AMC when you’re flipping through channels later tonight.  You gotta watch from the beginning.

Breaking Bad is easily the best show on television.  No question.

There you have it.  The dopeness that I currently am subjecting myself to.  For the record, every one of these shows have given me some serious goosebumps.  The kind you get when you watch a blockbuster movie in IMAX.  … Yup.  Dopeness.

Alright guys.  Hope you take heed to the dopeness I’m trying to supply y’all with in confidence.

OUT!   *ghost rides whip into tornado*
